1. challenge the assumption（CEFRレベル：-）（ワードツリーP13）
第412回公開テスト（午前）重要単熟語のおさらいで取り上げたassumptionを含むコロケーション、challenge the assumptionは「思い込みに異議を唱える（疑問を投げかける）」という意味を表します。

to question whether a belief or idea that people accept as true is really correct

2. perk（CEFRレベル：-）（ワードツリーP261）
第406回公開テスト（午前）重要単熟語のおさらいでも取り上げたperkはperquisiteの短縮形で、「（通常の給料に加えて受け取る）手当、特典」という意味を表します。通例perksという複数形で使います。

3. identification（CEFRレベル：C1）（ワードツリーP182）
identificationは「身分証明書、本人確認」という意味を表す不可算名詞です。ID[aɪdiː]と短縮されて使われることも多いです。

4. demolished（CEFRレベル：C1）
demolish（～を取り壊す）の過去分詞であるdemolishedは、分詞形容詞としてdemolished building（取り壊された建物）のように名詞を修飾することができます。

5. upkeep（CEFRレベル：-）
upkeepは「up（上に）+ keep（保つ）」→「良好な状態に保つこと」から、「保守、維持（=maintenance）」の意味を表す名詞です。

6. redemption（CEFRレベル：-）
redemptionは、第396回公開テスト（午前）重要単熟語のおさらいや第350回公開テスト（午前）重要単熟語のおさらいで取り上げた動詞redeemの名詞形で、「金券などの）換金、（商品券などの）商品との引き換え」という意味を表します。

7. biography（CEFRレベル：C1）（ワードツリーP151）
第338回公開テスト（午前）重要単熟語のおさらいでも取り上げたbiographyを再び取り上げます。biographyは「伝記」という意味で覚えている人が多いと思いますが、TOEICでは「経歴」という意味で頻出するので要注意です。

もし「伝記」という意味だけしか覚えていないと、professional biographyを「プロの伝記」（！？）と解釈することになるので、正解を選べない（誤答につながる）可能性が高くなります。

biographicalという形容詞も以下のフレーズでTOEICに頻出するので、併せて押さえておきましょう。

8. gift certificate（CEFRレベル：C2）（ワードツリーP44）
certificateは、「cert（ふるいにかける、分ける）+ ify +cate」→「ふるいにかけられたことを示すもの」→「選ばれた人に与えられるもの」ということから「証明書」という意味を表します。

certificateの前にgiftが付くgift certificateは「商品と引き換え可能であることを証明するもの」すなわち「商品券」という意味を表します。

9. commission（CEFRレベル：B2）（ワードツリーP307）
commissionは動詞の名詞の意味を持つ多義語ですが、ここでは名詞の「歩合、手数料」の意味を取り上げます。

an amount of money that is paid to somebody for selling goods and that increases with the amount of goods that are sold

（彼は販売するごとに10%の手数料を受け取ります）

commissionが持つその他の意味も大事ですので、ハイスコアを目指す学習者は全ての意味を押さえるようにしましょう。

10. probationary period （CEFRレベル：-）（ワードツリーP224）
probationaryは、「probe(=prove)（試す、証明する）+ ation +ary」→「仕事をする能力があることを証明する期間の」という語源から、「仮採用期間の、試用期間中の」という意味を表します。

probationary periodは、probation periodと同じく「仮採用期間、試用期間」です。
